Kodak Will Share Office Space But is Moving in the Right Move for Your Business?

According to Innovation Trail, Kodak is planning to share some of the office space in its building with nonprofit organizations and incubator operations. The company’s hope is that letting these organizations use the space will foster innovate ideas. This is part of a bigger development happening in Rochester, New York. According to Innovation Trail’s Randy Gorbman, “Rochester city and business officials want to emphasize the efforts at innovation that are going on downtown, by designating what they are calling a ‘downtown innovation zone.’  That’s something that Heidi Zimmer-Meyer of the Rochester Downtown Development Corporation says could help bring more attention to changes that are going on in the local economy.” The real question is whether moving into the Kodak space will be the right move for the nonprofits and incubators. Will the Kodak office fit their unique needs so they can perform with maximum productivity? Many of them could use our experienced team at Office Space Planners to ensure they are making the right business decision with their move.

Don’t take our word for it though. In a new article for Entrepreneur, titled “Aiming to Improve Your Office Space? Consider This Before a Move or Redesign,” Entrepreneur’s Riggs Kubiak suggests four main things to consider so you can ensure a successful process. First, assess the current setting. Second, explore a new space. Third, assemble the right project team. This includes having a quality architect, project manager, point person, and general contractor. Lastly, Kubiak suggests staying involved in the process. Kubiak poses a series of questions that you should ask yourself throughout the process, including “If your company were to opt for a different site for a new office, how many people would be housed there?” and “What do intend to use the office for? Is it simply for working and meetings? Or do you need a screening room, a music studio or maybe an outdoor garden?”

Keeping Kubiak’s suggestions in mind, you can check off everything on the list with the experts at Office Space Planners.
